The building’s form is partly derived from the landscape, with the roof line following the slope of the land. An open plan living/dining/kitchen area is situated on the first floor, with an accommodation wing on either side. The children’s bedrooms and rumpus area are located on the floor below. A feature woven black wire balustrade allows communication between the two floors.
A large orange pivot door opens to reveal panoramic views of the ocean, which are framed through the glazed stair wall and windows further afield. A suspended glazed passage links to the master bedroom, enabling views to the ocean from the swimming pool and courtyard behind.
Bathrooms feature timber and bluestone floors, large mirrors and Rutso insitu poured concrete bench tops. A refurbished claw foot bath adds a touch of romanticism. The kitchen also features Rutso insitu poured concrete bench tops, and a combination of limed plywood and stainless steel splashbacks. Spotted gum lining boards compliment the plywood ceiling and feature walls.
