Functionality and simplicity were the key considerations when transforming an unassuming alcove in the historic Royal Arcade into a chic coffee stop.
Warm tones were introduced to the space through the use of blond timbers and aged copper, which contrast against the more austere palette of concrete and white tiles. An existing wrought iron spiral staircase provides a sculptural focal point, which is visible through over-sized wrought iron windows.
Black stained timber floors and black cabinetry contrast with gloss white wall tiles, light natural hardwood and a feature inset marble bench. A concrete render finish creates a backdrop for neon signage, which adds a contemporary layer to the heritage rich surrounds.
