Croissanterie Lune, illuminates Martin Place in Sydney.
Lune’s design draws significant inspiration from the surrounding context and the building complex in which the store is located. One of the key local elements we have incorporated is sandstone, which connects the space to Sydney’s architectural heritage and surrounding environment.
We commissioned a custom sandstone bench by Studio Tops, which unites the natural texture and fabric of Sydney, with the Lune’s avant-garde aesthetic. This custom sculptural piece serves as a bridge between Lune’s origins in Melbourne, known for its contemporary industrial palette, and Sydney’s warm and inherently decadent materiality, creating a distinctive fusion of both cities’ unique characteristics.
Locally sourced materials were prioritised to reduce the project’s carbon footprint while supporting the local economy. Collaboration with local artisans, including Studio Tops and Formanova metalworkers, added bespoke craftsmanship to the bronze and stainless steel detailing, further enhancing the project’s collaborative connection to the community.
The design of the space is crafted to intrigue and delight customers, offering an experience that goes beyond a retail transaction. From the moment customers step in, they are greeted by a thoughtful, detail-oriented environment that mirrors Lune’s meticulous approach to pastry making.
